Pablo Daniel Sarmiento (born June 10, 1971 in Las Varillas, Cordoba, Argentina) is an Argentine professional boxer in the Light Welterweight division and is the former IBO Light Welterweight Champion.[1] He's also the brother of boxing trainer Gabriel Sarmiento.[2][3]

Pro career

In March 1997, Sarmiento won the WBO Latino Super Featherweight Championship by beating Andre Nicola, at the time Nicola had a record of 14-1.[4]

IBO Light Welterweight Championship

On July 14, 2001 he won his first world title by knocking out the IBO Light Welterweight Champion Billy Schwer in Wembley, London.[5]

In his last fight Daniel lost to undefeated Mexican American Jesse Vargas.[6] The bout was the main event of FSN's Fight Night Club.[7]
